Devon country retreat offers blooming marvellous babymoon

For expectant couples wanting a romantic break without the jet lag, the Moorland Garden Hotel in Dartmoor, Devon has introduced the perfect babymoon package for enjoying the most of the British countryside this spring and summer.

Set on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park, the Moorland Garden Hotel boasts a tranquil setting within nine acres of landscaped gardens, which are bursting into life with magnificent blooms. With 44 individually-designed bedrooms (most looking out over Dartmoor and the gardens), parents-to-be can relax whilst soaking up the peace and quiet in style.

Long, lazy lunches are best enjoyed in the cosy Dartmoor Bar; followed by a proper Devonshire Cream Tea for two, taken on the sunny terrace on warmer days.  From May to September, couples can head out into the hotel’s wildflower meadow with a gourmet hamper to find their own private picnic spot.

The Wildflower Restaurant, with its large windows overlooking the moorland garden and traditional British menu offering the best in seasonal produce, is the setting for a romantic tête-à-tête to round off the day.

A babymoon break at the Moorland Garden Hotel costs from £150 per room per night, including an in-room pregnancy massage for mum and three course dinner for two in The Wildflower Restaurant.  Add Afternoon Tea for two from £175 per room per night, or £195 including a gourmet picnic.

And baby came too…couples returning with baby within the first year will be provided with a complimentary upgrade.
