Dogs Welcome

If you decide to bring Rover along to join you on your holiday in the Tamar Valley, many of our accommodation providers welcome dogs.

Your dog can have a great time with you, exploring the woods along the river Tamar and its tributaries, the western slopes of Dartmoor, the Eastern slopes of Bodmin Moor, and the country park at Kit Hill.  You may also enjoy visiting the dog-friendly beaches near the mouth of the Tamar at Whitsand Bay. 

Dogs are welcome at the beautiful National Trust riverside estates at Cotehele and Saltram, and at the Mount Edgecumbe estate with its wonderful estuary views too.

Although we have plenty of places where your dog can have fun exercising off the lead, please be do be careful with your dog around the old mining areas, and be aware that there are rare ground-nesting birds, deer and livestock in the valley.
