The Tamar Valley area has a famous market gardening tradition, and our farmer's markets are all well worth a visit. Fresh, seasonal local veg, delicious cakes, buns, scones and jams, and locally reared meats are some of the foody delights to be found at our many local markets. Many of them also offer local crafts, beer, art and sculpture and all of them are fascinating places for a wander round and a chat with the stall-holders.
|Tavistock Pannier Market||

Inside the Market building itself you can discover a wide range of traders, artists and crafts people offering a personal service with quality goods at competitive prices.
Welcome to the enchanted world of Charlie Bears
Charlie Bears are affordable, collectable bears and characters designed by Charlie at The Bearhouse in Cornwall. Charlie also collaborates with other world-renowned bear artists to create different collections. All Charlie Bears are limited in production, and our special collections often have very low editions. Lovingly made by hand, each bear has their own unique characteristics and that is why only Charlie Bears are known as the bears with personalities.

Founded in 1980 by Jane Talbot-Smith on returning to her native Cornwall. After spending two and a half years building horse drawn vehicles, Jane decided that leather was the medium for her and took up a place at Cordwainers College, Hackney, London, to study rural saddlery.
On leaving college Jane worked as an improver with Bridleways of Guildford working under Master Saddler, Les Cocker, famous for his side saddle used by HM Queen Elizabeth II and his work for the late Shah of Persia.
